Lily’s haircut has raised over £630 for charity
14-year-old Lily from Aldwick has had her long hair chopped off at Richard Pearce Hairdressing, and it’s all in a good cause.
Her long hair was made super-short by Richard (helped by Mel with the plaiting) for a cause Lily believes strongly in. Her hair is being donated to The Little Princess Trust to make real hair wigs for children who have lost their hair through illness or cancer treatment.
Lily says she was inspired by the recent Hair to Spare campaign by the Little Princess Trust, in which people were encouraged to choose between donating a long length of their hair or sparing some money for the charity. Not only has Lily donated 12 inches of her hair, she is also raising money for The Little Princess Trust. She has raised a whopping £630 so far, including fundraising at her school, a customer collection at Richard Pearce Hairdressing, and through her Justgiving page. Not bad when she originally hoped to raise £150!
Lily, who has always had long hair, absolutely loves her new short crop. Richard Pearce was happy to help, and donated Lily’s haircut free of charge. Richard said, ‘Lily was brave to have her always long hair chopped off. It’s a very good cause so we were happy to help not just with cutting her hair but with her fundraising efforts too.’
